Culture & Lifestyle
The Cross Cotswold Pathway starts in Banbury in the north-east and heads south-west across the heart of England ending in Bath.
In the east it passes very close to the Rollright Stones, a legendary bronze age stone circle, and takes in prosperous lowland villages like Adlestrop, where the poet Edward Thomas was inspired to write his well known poem at the brink of WW1.  It goes past famous and historic towns such as Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Cirencester to which there are detours, and glimpses grand manor houses and stately homes such Chastleton House, Stowell Park and even Highgrove, Prince Charles’ family home.
The path ends in Bath which boasts the Roman Baths built over hot springs, the 18th century Royal Crescent and associations with Jane Austen its most famous resident.
The total walking distance ofthis trail walking holiday is 86milestaking 7 to 10 days to complete. The walking grade is moderate passing through the rolling Cotswold landscape.
